Formula is the only safe alternative for breastfeeding. Formula is fortified with as many of the vitamins and minerals of mother’s milk as possible. Most formulas are based on cow milk, but specialized formulas for “problematic” palates include soy formulas, hypoallergenic formulas, neonatal formulas, and other special diet formulas. All of these can help aid with things like indigestion, colic, and acid reflux. Baby formula comes in three different kinds: dry, liquid, and ready to use. Most parents typically start with dry formula, but can use already prepared for helping with colic or while on the go. As baby gets older, you can mix the formula with rice cereal, oatmeal, or even fruits to give him a special treat. Make sure to get baby formula carriers and storage devices, especially for when you are on the go. Be sure of one thing: you don’t want this stuff spilling everywhere!
